On a pleasant day with just a
tiny drop of rain, seven Chelwood Roatarians and five of their ladies
attended to support the fun run and promote Rotary. Everyone, including
the ladies donned a Rotary tabard to give us visibility
Manning the ‘Wellie Wanging’
stall was Barry and Doris with Vic who spent the day persuading mainly
the kids in showing off their prowess in their wellie skills. £43.00 was
the profit at the end of the day which was divided between the club and
the 10K charities. Many thanks to the wangers for their hard work.
The Water Survival box stand was
manned by Ray and Tony before Tony was ‘Volunteered’ to go off and
Marshall. Nice to see Ray resplendent in his Rotary jersey, observing
the dress code for the occasion.
The ladies, Val, Heather, Jackie
and Linda helped sell the Pensford 10K anniversary T shirt and present
commemorative anniversary medallions to all the runners on completion of
their run.
Jerry, Richard and Steve
directed traffic without any near misses between cars, runners, hedges
or walls so all entered and exited the parking areas area smoothly.
It was nice that many drivers
stopped on their way out to thank us for our work, makes the day as they
say.
Well done to
Richard Clarke for his fine effort in running on the day with a time of
1:07 approx.
A good day was had by all and
the threat of rain held off to make a pleasant day.
